Other uses of WebWonder

While the principal use of WebWonder is to create web pages for the internet, don't forget that it can be used for other things as well. Here are a few suggestions:

Help files:

WebWonder's own help files were created using WebWonder! HTML is a much better format than plain text because it not only allows images to be used but also allows links to be made to other pages either locally or to the internet. If you load the HTML Help set as a site, you can use the search engine to find things.

Calendars and Diaries:

The Calendar and Diary feature was designed to create web pages but there is no reason why you should not use a local copy just on your computer for you own needs. The linking of HTML pages along with the date finding mechanism can make for a very powerful diary arrangement. You don't have to publish it.

Photo galleries:

The Contact Sheet feature of WebWonder is ideal for creating libraries of photographs as it provides not only sheets of thumbnails, but also links to pages with the photos and any explanatory text.

Slide Shows:

If you have a collection of photos that you want to show to friends, why not make them up as a WebWonder slide show. This can be a mini-site that you can then copy onto a CDROM or e-mail as a unit so you will be sure that the pictures will be presented in order, again with the possibility of explanatory text.

Catalogues:

Some users use WebWonder to catalogue their collection of CDs or other items. The page find feature (F4) and site search engine provide good means of locating items.

Any other ideas?

In fact, WebWonder is ideal for creating any sort of linked documentation and as HTML is a widely recognised standard, you can be sure that what ever you create should be accessible by all.
